About Me

Roberta Pia is an Italian photographer.
Through her photographs, she investigates the concept of the essence of natural elements and their changing identity in relation to man.

She was born in Sassari, Sardinia, and her land of wild and uncontaminated nature, rich in history and ancient traditions, has inspired her approach to photography through images that document the scenery.

After sitting her final high school exams specializing in Applied Art, she continued her artistic training at the Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in Painting. Here she furthered her study of Analog and Pinhole Photography.

She currently uses Digital Photography with Mixed Manipulation Techniques. She lives and works in Sassari as a freelance photographer.

My path is strongly influenced by my artistic training, which instilled in me deep “observation” and “analysis” of objects.

The focus of my research is on “nature” and “mutation”. Through my images I depict nature, the essence of its elements, an enchanted world that disarms us with its beauty and inevitably changes, in relation to the increasingly destructive actions perpetrated by man, to its detriment.

Sometimes I put its intrinsic and boundless beauty in the foreground, at other times I offer a fantastic, curious but at the same time dramatic interpretation, which seeks to lead the viewer towards deep reflection on our duties towards the precious natural heritage we should be guarding.

A futuristic vision located between reality and fantasy, of a near future.
